Licensing

Survey Studio checks for a signed license file at startup. By default it looks for umbraco/Licenses/SurveyStudio/license.lic, relative to the site's content root — drop your .lic file there and restart the application; the startup log reports whether a valid license was found.

If you'd rather keep the file somewhere else — outside source control, or shared across environments — override the location with the SurveyStudio:Licensing:LicenseFilePath setting in appsettings.json:

A relative path resolves against the content root as before; an absolute (rooted) path is used as-is. Without a valid license file, an installation runs in trial mode — every feature is unlocked up to a 50-submission cap (see Viewing results).
